Cheyenne Turley, NCMG

Cheyenne Turley is an co-owner of Awesome Dog Grooming and our National Certified Master Groomer.  She is originally from Tennessee where she began grooming.  She has over ten years of experience and earned the National Certified Master Groomer designation from the National Dog Groomer Association of America in 2014.  She also served as a manager of a salon in Tennessee.  She successfully competed in multiple dog grooming competitions and studied under well known show handlers.

Once in Alabama, Cheyenne also began volunteering her time as a first responder and is a licensed Advanced EMT.  She opened Awesome Dog Grooming in Daleville to have greater flexibility with family and to have a better dog grooming experience for the pups as well as pup parents.  

So, what is a National Certified Master Groomer?  A National Certified Master Groomer (NCMG) is a groomer who has taken the time and acquired the skill to pass a 100 question written exam and practical exam (grooms conducted in front of an evaluator) for each of the breed groups (sporting, non sporting, and terrier).  The terrier group requires a practical of a long legged terrier as well as a short legged terrier.  After passing each of these, the groomer takes a 400 question written exam covering all breed groups, salon safety, and more.  Once the groomer passes this with an 80% or greater, they earn the designation of a National Certified Master Groomer from the National Dog Groomers Assoc. of America, (NDGAA).
